| Just for your interest...
The first Salukis to come to New Zealand during the 1930's when Sarona Baz Gul and Zora Al Supaya were imported from the UK. When they died in the 1940's they left no progeny in New Zealand. In 1968 Darius of Arabesque was imported from the UK but sadly died at only 18 months of age. In 1970 the foundation Salukis of Al Yaman were imported from Australia and in 1972 the first litter of puppies was born. Since then no less than nine Salukis have been imported from the UK which has enabled Al Yaman to bring together the great functional bloodlines of the desert and old England. For years the bloodlines of Knightellington, Windswift, Rabia and Rualla have been carefully interwoven and now with great pride this kennel presents the culmination of its special plan. |
